Baraboo Homecoming Parade
A town turned out for its students, its traditions, and one another.
The Photo Story
Homecoming belongs to everyone who shows up.
On September 25, 2026, Baraboo’s homecoming parade brought students and neighbors into downtown. The route filled with the sound of the marching band, the movement of cheer squads and teams, and families waiting along the sidewalk for a familiar face to pass.
These 47 photographs move between the parade and the people watching it: a Hall of Fame banner, student athletes, band uniforms, alumni riding together, and small moments shared across generations. A close portrait with the Thunderbird mascot offers the opening frame; the wider images show the community around it.
Homecoming is more than a procession. For current students it is a chance to be seen and celebrated; for former students and families it is a reason to return, wave, and remember. This essay preserves one September afternoon in Baraboo through the faces and details that made it feel like home.
